Although I used to kick box in the past, and have had training lessons for certain jobs I have had, etc. Finding a book that can help anyone isn't something that you often come across. I had to review this because this is a book that I think is good enough for everyone. It does have illustrations as well, which makes things that bit easier, and it keeps to simple moves rather than more complex ones. There are some moves I thought should be here, but then when I thought a bit more I realised that although you could show someone and get them to have a go, to actually write out why they work and then explain how to do them isn't that easy. What I was trained for, running away wasn't an option, but it is still a simple tactic. If you read this with a friend, you can try out the moves together, which is probably the best thing, but this book will give you some kind of idea of how to protect yourself. Nothing is ever the perfect way to win in situations that result in fighting, but this book will help to give you an edge, and give your confidence a boost. Read the disclaimers at the front of this, and don't forget, you can get injured, and you can get arrested, so be careful, you have been warned.

This is a good investment for someone wanting to defend themselves against a would be attacker as well as those wanting to incorporate simple effective techniques into their repertoire. I gave this book a 5-star review because it provides a very simple and direct method of Self Protection. The methods taught in this book have been proven in actual hand to hand combat survival situations I have no doubt as to its effectiveness and the efficiency of the methods shown.
